Last part of Frosty Days

Hello again :)
Hope you're having a nice relaxing Sunday.
I'm making the most of it because I don't start work until 11 pm tonight. So with having the day to myself I'm making it an "arty and crafty day" before I have to go to bed for a pre nightshift nap.

So what's new? Over on Facebook a few of the Skillshare teachers have created a new group called Art Exploration. It will run the whole year with monthly tutorials and a challenge. This monthly thing suits me perfectly. You can do as little or much as you like for a monthly theme. With a full time job and lots of things to do that's just perfect for me. For January it's the colour "RED ".
This heart is made from the same red , the gradient is created by adding more water.
The challenge was also to paint a red tulip.
And this was an exercise in colour exploration. Apart from a tiny touch of green , all those shades were created by mixing the same red tone.

As usual on Instagram there is a #bestof2019 hashtag. It's always interesting to see which project got the most likes.
So here are my best 9 of 2019.
I have started to knit again, but still taking it a bit easy and not doing to much in one go. Slowly does it. This is a pair of legwarmers I'm working on for a friend.

I have printed out a project list for 2020....we will see how much of that I actually get done :)

But I made the most of the low January Sales prices and have ordered the materials for 3 of these planned projects already. "Save when you can !"  I say...
In between I aim to finish some started projects from the back of the shelf. Like, there is a knitted jumper I started 3 years ago :) All that's missing is one sleeve and the collar. So that one will be next to complete before I start anything else :)
Of course there's always some designing going on in between these various projects and paintings. The curse (or blessing) of having many hobbies.

Okay let's get to the download for today.
Here is the last part of the kit

Next post will be a new freebie kit again.
And now it's time to start cooking dinner. My stomach is letting me know it wants to be fed.
So stay crafty and until next post in 2 weeks ;)

Welcome 2020

Hello,
a late happy New Year to you all . Hope it started well for you.I scheduled this post for yesterday (Sunday) but for some reason it didn't post.
I had quite a relaxed time being off work , although plans didn't quite go as planned. I got all the cleaning and decluttering done , but I had hoped to have time for lots of art and craft projects. Time wasn't the problem, but my wrist and little finger played up , slightly swollen and aching. So no knitting or crochet, instead giving my poor hand a break and not moving it too much. It's better now , so last night  started knitting a little again. Not as much and fast as before , because I don't want it to get bad again.... slowly does it !
So not much to show from that department 😉
I had a few comments regarding the download links. I have no clue what causes this for you. I tried it from my laptop and from my tablet and both work just fine without a problem. I use Microsoft Edge as browser , not Google. But this is what Lucy commented.
Now I don't know what exactly it asks you to sign up to, but the link should lead you to my Mediafire account. Mediafire is safe. Maybe they changed their policy and you have to be a member now to download?
This is what the download page should look like. See that green tab ? That's where you should click on to get the file.

Anyway... not being able to knit or crochet ,I got out my paints and watercolour pad for some easy painting .
Watercolour leaves heart
Watercolour leaves circle
and a geometric background with doodles
And this one I couldn't show before because it was a gift. Cheeseboard pyrography.

And that's all I have for now...apart from the 2 new freebie parts.

There's one more part to come next post .

And I don't know about you, but I'm in the mood for Spring greenery and flowers in this grey, wet and windy weather we have here. I think I will start designing something nice and floral soon :)

That's all for now . Enjoy the new parts and till next post :)

Last freebie post of 2019

Good morning everybody....
My rather long weekend begins today 😉
I just came home from nightshift and this was my last shift for two wonderful weeks. I am officially on leave 😋 Hooray !!!!
Although it will be a busy one for the first week...once I caught up on my beauty sleep.
As every year I will be starting the new year with some goals and intentions.(Might make some layouts to remind me of them)  New Years eve morning I will cook and bake us some buffet style snacks and a pasta salad. At midnight there will be the usual video calls with my family in Germany to wish each other a Happy New Year. We watch the big London Fireworks on TV and have a little toast among us, and then to bed. New years day is a day to relax and weather depending maybe a walk in nature. On the 2nd I meet up with some friends and colleagues at our Italian restaurant for a meal and get together.
On the 3rd some shopping to stock up my fridge ...but not the freezer. That will be cleaned out and sorted , as will the kitchen cupboards and the same goes for the other rooms. I do New years cleaning. I don't wait for spring because I want to go into the new year clean and clutter free. Have you ever seen Marie Kondo om Netflix? That woman has a point with her series and books. Get rid of what no longer serves you and makes you happy. tidy up and clean , and start the new year organized. I did that before Marie Kondo ever became known and it has always served me well so far. I tackle one room each day , so I still have plenty of time for other things and time to relax and craft as well.
These are my makes since last post ….
I finally got that jumper ready 😍
Then I crocheted a scarf ...
  ...made the matching fingerless mittens...
...and finally finished the set with the matching hat as well.
That's not my last project of this year though. I have already started on a gift for a friend and hope to finish it before the year ends.
I'll keep you all updated how things go as usual in my posts 😀

And now to the next two parts of the freebie kit.
Papers

and elements
http://www.mediafire.com/file/8wyxe4vris8jrpk/srwc5.zip/file

And that's all for this year. I'll be back in 2020 😎
I hope you'll make it all happily into the new one.
Happy New Year hugs

New Freebie " Frosty Days"

Hi again,
brrrrrr…..it truly is winter weather here at the east coast of England. Rain , rain and more rain , topped by strong winds which make the roof tiles rattle. It's cosy when you can stay inside , wrap up in a blanket with a cup of hot chocolate and a good book, but not so nice when you have to go out in it.
Since the last post I have been taking it easy and tried to stay warm. My neck is okay again and I made sure to wear a scarf to protect it from the cold winds.
I have almost finished my Christmas shopping, just a couple of gift cards to get. And my living room looks cosy and festive.
I definitely have a thing for Tomte this year. I just love those little gnomes:)

In between work, cooking, shopping and other household stuff I didn't get to do much crafting though. I managed a few rows of knitting and played in Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro a little. Yup, I got another kit ready :)
Plus backgrounds for two more kits. Apart from that I finished 2 books. Well, I did say I took it easy :)

But I have plenty of previews to show today for the new freebie kit.
It's called "Frosty Days". Last year we had Frosty Mornings and Frosty Nights , so now we get to the Frosty Days.
I have decided not to do a separate Christmas kit. I find that an of these "Frosty" winter kits are just fine as a Christmas kit if you just a bauble or two.
Here more detailed previews.

This kit comes in 7 parts.
Today you get one with papers and one with elements.

https://www.mediafire.com/file/t98v5nk0b11h91w/srwc4.zip/file

Enjoy :)
I will be working all over Christmas , but we'll be having ours on the 21st  and 22md of December again.
I will pop in with the next post and freebie parts as usual again in 2 weeks. That's going to be the last post of this year ....where has this year gone so fast?
So have a nice Christmas all of you and I'll be back before the New Year.
Stay crafty :)

Till then ….hugs Snowy

Last part of Golden Fall

Hi all :)
Let me tell you :Getting old sucks ! Oh , it definitely got its pros as well ,but the creaking, aching bone thingy is not funny. Yesterday I woke up and my neck hurt a little. Not to worry, I have just been sleeping wrong ...it happens. But by evening it had gotten worse and I could barely move my head without pain.
What happened to ageing gracefully, ripening like a fine wine? This is definitely not what I signed up for :)
So I'm sitting here , one of those reheatable rice filled microwave things around my neck, covered with a scarf, a fleece hoodie and warm velour bottoms , wrapped up like going on a trip to the north pole. It's gradually getting better (I think) and it better be gone by Tuesday when I have to be back at work. I'm an active girl. I cycle and walk every day. First these colds and now this. Give me a break, please !:)
On the bright side, the day before I put up my Christmas decorations. I stuck to the " plastic bauble free" theme.
Yes, the tree is artificial. there is a 10 year old tinsel string in it, but everything else is natural.
A mini wooden nutcracker, straw stars, orange slices...
 ...macramé trees...
...pine cones...
and a macramé star.
Little gnomie here got a lick of gold paint.
And my Amaryllis is in full bloom. What a beauty :)
Anyway, let's get to the last freebie part now.

Next post is the start of a new Freebie again. Until then ...stay crafty :)

Nightshift lag for new parts :)

Hello ,
yes, I'm a day late again...I call it nightshift lag. That , and the fact my son believes in sharing and has given me his damn cold ! Believe me , it's no fun to sit there, having to stay awake all night with a stuffy head , coughing and your bones aching.
Needless to say I came home and fell into my bed, half comatose as soon as my head touched the pillow.
So with that going on I had no energy to do much.
But there's light at the end of the tunnel for me.... one more night tonight and then I have 6 wonderful days off. Time to rest, recover from nights and cure myself of this cold.
The annoying thing is as usual that I have so many things I want to do, which will have to wait a few more days.
But I got some projects done before the bacillus attack hit me :)
This macramé star is made entirely from leftovers/cut offs from previous projects. I don't like to waste the macramé yarn , so I kept the cut offs in a cardboard  box and used up quite a few on this project.
And another macramé star (number 3) , this time made of half square knots and I added a tomte ( Norwegian gnome) . Why so many stars?  One will be hung on my door, the other 2 will be window decorations. Still sticking to my " no plastic " natural themed Christmas decoration plan.
And I managed to get this crochet project completed as well.

I did get busy on the laptop as well and started to design a new kit , but so far I only have a few backgrounds done. I'll show a bit of the fit once I have a bit more done.

Talking of crochet: I have added another project on the Patterns page. It's a lovely blanket in 8 parts I found and I posted the links for you. It really looks gorgeous and I'm putting it onto my to-do list for later.

But now to the next two download links for you.

One more link next post , and then another freebie again.
And now I have to get ready for this last nightshift.
PS: Your comments are always much appreciated :)
Until next post , stay creative :)

More Freebie parts again

Hello :)
I'm actually posting a day earlier this time. It's my last day off , tomorrow, on Sunday my shifts start again. So I thought it's best to post while I still have the time :)

And I've been creative again !
We're coming up to Christmas time soon , so I have been busy to make some decorations. My aim is to have no plastic decorations. Only natural and environmental friendly materials. I don't need plastic and harmful tinsel to have a cosy and festive home.

Talking of cosy …..
….my blanket is finally done ! It took me just over 3 years but I'm glad I stuck with it. So worth the patience and work :)
This is also an "old " project from the back of my shelf. It sat there a few years and now I have finally completed it. My Tatty Teddy Advent calendar.
It's all cross stitch , with little pockets to put some sweet treats in.

Cute , hey?
I made this Macramé Christmas tree this morning. I saw a similar picture on Pinterest but there were no instructions with it. No problem....I made my own instructions and I'm very happy how it turned out :)
And lastly - Whenever I do a Macramé project I have lots of cut offs. Now this yarn isn't cheap, so I don't like wasting it by throwing the smaller pieces away. I actually have a cardboard box where I keep them in.
Today I used some of these shorter pieces to make some hanging tree decorations.
2 slices of dried orange , in-between the macramé cord and a string for hanging, glue together and ready are my new decorations :)
They also smell really good ! And if the smell fades , a drop of orange or mandarin essential oil on each slice will bring the smell back .

Oh yes, I promised to show some vacation pics....
...well , here is one I used in a layout. Or rather 2, because I used the Autumn tree pic and faded it into the background. I also used a warm filter on the main picture to give a real autumn feel to it. Kit used is the currant freebie "Golden Fall"
That's my mother and me during one of our walks on a lovely warm day.

And now to the freebie links
The second folder of backgrounds

and more elements

New freebie kit "Golden Fall"

Hello :)
I'm posting rather late today after spending half of the day in bed. I only finished my nightshift at 7 am this morning and needed my beauty sleep :)
Apart from work I have been pretty busy since my last post.
I sorted through my stash shelf and found an almost finished project I had forgotten about. So I got busy and finally got it ready.
A crochet shoulder Boho bag. I love the colours of this variegated yarn 💓
I'm in love with Norwegian gnomes, the "tomte" . I've been browsing the local shops , but could not find any in this town. So I decided to make one myself.
I browsed a few tutorials on Pinterest and here he is. Very happy how he turned out and I will definitely make a little friend for him as well. :)
Then it was a day of wreath making. This is my macramé autumn wreath ….
….and my Macramé Star wreath .
Here a close up with the beautiful pink silk rose I added for decoration.
And lastly , one of my Instagram friends published her first book. It's a 30 day workshop with lovely projects inside.
Of course I had to get my paints and brushes out and get started. I opted for the Diamond made out of lines , but changed the colours to metallic gold and bronze tones. It's a fun way to practice straight and thin lines.

Okay , now to the new freebie and lots of previews for the new kit "Golden Fall"
This has never been published before and is quite a large kit with 7 zip files in total.
Here more detailed previews...

And here the first 2 links for you :

and Elements

I normally wanted to show some more pictures from my trip to Germany but I think this post has plenty of pictures already , so I'll save those for another post and might even make a few layouts with them :)

So that's all for now . I need to catch up with some more sleep and get back to normal day time routine in the next few days , before my early shifts start again. And of course squeeze plenty of crafting time in between shopping ,cooking and the usual catching up with housework on my days off .

Till next post
Hugs Snowy
