Last two parts of Colurs of Springtime

Hello again,
It's been 3 weeks since I last posted and I have been busy. I have started to replant my little garden now that the shops are open again and have some more choice. I'm going for bee friendly plants with lots of lavender and herb plants. I have not done much yet due to Covid 19 , so it's still very much a work in progress and I've not taken any pictures yet.
And that brings me to my new posting schedule. For the summer I will be posting every 3 weeks now.. I'm cutting down online time, including social media etc. The garden will take priority the next months.

As for being creative ,I have found a blog with free patterns and learned a new technique. How to make a tartan pattern or a crochet scarf. I changed the colours to blue . This is the crochet version, but there is also a knitting pattern for it available. I love how my crochet version turned out ,and I think I will also do the knitted version.

If you like it, you can find the pattern here https://www.twoofwands.com/blog/rosebridge-plaid-blanket-scarf
Looks great, huh?
I also made a cushion cover in simple purl stitch. It's the perfect mindless pattern o do while watching TV , without having to count for a complicated pattern:)

I used James C Brett -Norske and Sirdar Alpine, a faux fur yarn, in case anybody is interested .
But now to the downloads.

These are the last two parts, so next post in 3 weeks will be the start of another freebie kit.
So that's all for now. This old girl has to get ready for work now.Time to make my millions (I wish) because the bills have to be paid.

Until then

The next freebie parts

Good morning :)
Here in UK we had a long bank holiday weekend . Not for me though , I had to work as usual. But I'm learning to slow down even more !
So much that the 100 day painting project and others were put nearly completely on hold the past 2 weeks. Yeah, that's right ...I have nothing new to show because I discovered an amazing book series and have been reading every spare minute with my feet up and a nice cuppa next to me. I needed that time to just chill and relax. Although my stripy cardigan is showing some progress, just one sleeve to crochet and then stitch everything together. The triangle Northern Lights shawl is also ready.

Then my cooker decided not to work anymore and luckily there is online shopping ! Most stores here are still closed , so there was no physical shopping for a new one possible. But I found a great one online, ordered and it got delivered last week.
I also ordered a new runner for the hallway and took advantage of a few sales. With no shops open a girl still has to treat herself , right?

I was also busy to get more of my summer clothing out of vacuum storage bags and put the winter woollies away. Now I just need the charity shops to open again so I can bring them a bag full of clothing I don't wear anymore.
And I gave myself a social media break during my time off. No Facebook, no Instagram browsing..... which came to a stop as soon as I had to get back to work. The temptation to get out the phone and scroll during the lunch break was just too much :)
BUT ...I started a creative journal/file. After this short break I am looking through saved patterns and craft magazine articles for things I want to try and create. This break was like a "reset" for plotting and planning the new projects for the rest of this year. And that includes some new designs as well.

So this will be the shortest post ever. No new pictures of creative projects, just the download links for today. Less hustle -more hygge !

New Freebie Spring kit

Good morning ….
I normally wanted to post last night , but when I went to zip up the files for the new freebie kit I discovered I had no detailed previews. It was too late and I was getting tired , so I decided to do the previews first thing in the morning and then post it here.
So I'm sitting here with my coffee and finally got everything sorted.
On Saturday we had a BBQ and even though I was only out in the sun for 2 hours I ended up slightly sunburned. Needless to say some parts of my skin still feel rather tender I'm naturally pale skinned and I burn very quickly. If I go out today I will definitely cover up to avoid further burning. I will probably get strange looks again walking around covered up with long sleeves , but I'm used to it :)

I painted a few more small pics for the 100 day challenge
I have more but with all the previews today I will keep those for next post.
And this is work in progress . I just love the yarn ! It's called Northern Lights and is a pleasure to work with.
My Boho cardigan is also taking shape, I only have the sleeves left to do.

But let's get all those previews up now...
The new kit is called Colours of Springtime and will be 6 folders for you to download.
It contains 18 papers , only 12 are shown here.

Here are the first downloads

I hope everybody is staying healthy .We are still under lockdown here and I hope it will stay that way quite a while longer. The last thing we want is for the numbers of Covid 19 to go up again, so I think it's better to stay in a while longer than risking it to get worse again.
I'll be back with more next post , so enjoy and stay crafty :)

Last of Lavender and Lace

Hello and good morning :)
Apologies for being late again, but nightshift got in the way and we were quite busy at work. My beauty sleep had to come first because I was absolutely shattered.
Plus I've been busy here at home as well, building up flatpack furniture for my bedroom. After 17 years of life it was time to dump my old chest of drawers and get a new one. Plus I got a bedside cabinet with it as well.  I went for natural pine furniture , called "Scandi" and it looks really nice. I might take a pic when it's daylight, once I packed everything away and tidied up.
I have a lot planned for the couple of days I'm off work. It's time to pack some of the winter clothing away into vacuum storage bags and get the lighter summer stuff out. I don't think I'll be needing thick woolly jumpers, hats and scarves anymore until end of the year.
Some of my plants need repotting , I want to plant some more seeds, do some more painting, work on my crochet project, maybe design another kit ….you get it....so many plans , not enough time to do it in.
But I'm off to a good start this morning. It's only 8 am and I have already cleaned the kitchen , the washing machine is on and I have my coffee in front of me while I write this. Mopping the floors is next, because these damn cleaning fairies didn't turn up again. They must be isolating as well :)
I found this floor cleaner , called "French soap scent" and it reminds me of my childhood. My great grandmother used a plain basic soap for cleaning nd this is exactly the same scent. Isn't it funny how little things like a smell can remind us of good times with loved ones?
And it's a rainy grey morning here, so that will make it easier to stay in and get things done.

I'm also trying to catch up with the 100 day challenge of painting 5 minute miniatures, but I'm getting there .I've fallen behind , but I refuse to get stressed about it.
Here are some I finished.

 I also did some crochet....
...and finished some crochet bunting. Still have to hang it up , but it's gonna look great :)

Anyway... time to give you the last part of Lavender and Lace and then I will have to look on my external drive what kit I will upload for you next.

Part 5 & 6 of Lavender and Lace

Hello and good evening :)
I hope everybody is having a creative time in isolation. It seems the UK has discovered their love for crafting , because when I went on to the Hobbycraft website nearly everything I was interested in was sold out. It's nice to see so much creativity , but when it comes to wanting to stock up my own supply it plain sucks :)
We had lovely weather here and no rain for weeks, so when it started to thunder and rain about 2 hours ago ,it was very welcome. Nature needs a good watering right now. And it's quite relaxing to listen to the rain while I'm writing this post.
As for creativity... there has been quite a bit going on here.
Firstly Love Crafts have started a 30 day project challenge.
The planner gives prompts and free patterns each day for crafty projects.
I've already finished a few of these.
A Macramé rainbow for "Whatever the weather"
Crochet hair scrunchies for "Round and round"
A bobble stitch cushion cover for "Pattern perfection"
Beaded tassel necklaces for "Monday mood"
...and a crochet basket for the"Storage" prompt.
I have 2 more in progress , but they will still take a bit of work before they are done.

Then the 100 day project started as well. It means for 100 days we do mini 5 minute paintings. Irina on Skillshare does a video each day , so there's a whole bunch of us doing it together.
I have to catch up with 2 of them. Work got in the way :)

But now the downloads again.

2 more freebie parts

Hi all :)
Hope everybody is staying healthy and not getting bored during this time of isolation.
Definitely no boredom for me! I'm still working every day, because working closely with the emergency services we are classed as " a vital service" and a key worker. We now have a document to carry with us in case we get stopped and checked. Police can fine people for being out and about without valid reason.
I'm posting 2 days later than planned because I really needed some down time and rest. My shifts had slightly changed due to some vulnerable coworkers in self isolation. Shopping isn't as straight forward as it used to be either. Instead of just grabbing what I need from one store I have to visit 2 or 3 before I find everything I need. Toilet paper , eggs and rice seem to be the most wanted items in the moment. Otherwise the shelves are pretty full. They have Security at the doors and only let one person in as another leaves the shop. That way it doesn't get crowded and people are able to stay 2 metres apart.

But enough of this now.I don't really have any new craft pictures as I'm still working on the same crochet item , but I took time to see the flowers on my way to and from work by the roadside (on my bicycle) or my shopping trips.(exercise ,fresh air and reason to be out and about all in one)

The first leaves on this tree.

And now the download links for you.

New freebie kit begins again

Hello :)
I'm back with another freebie kit. But first my creative updates again and some thoughts to the current situation with the corona virus.
Yeah, it's scary but the panic buying and stockpiling just makes me wonder about people. It's a virus that will infect the lungs , it doesn't give you diarrhea ….so why the hell are people buying all this toilet paper? There is no need for panic buying. What is more important is that you wash your hands, don't touch your face , avoid crowds and boost your immune system with healthy food and maybe a some multi vitamins.China just reported the lowest number of new cases .So there is evidence and hope that what they are doing is working and slowing down the spreading of the virus and even stopping it is possible. If it means borders get closed , we can't travel for a while and isolate ourselves as much as possible, then so be it. If it helps it will definitely be worth it !
I also use a home delivery service for a lot of my grocery shopping. Yes, it costs a little extra, but the delivery driver brings it to my door step in crates and it's easy to unpack and get it into my kitchen.
I think us creative people won't have any problems with staying more inside and away from public gatherings. Our hobbies should make us well prepared for some isolation without boredom because let's face it- the best way to avoid catching it is being a loner and staying away from others as much as possible.
I certainly have no problem with that :) It just gives me more time to be creative.

So I actually got out my paints again and did these blue watercolour crystals.
And I'm gradually working my way through this watercolour book.
This is my crochet experiment. I saw something similar in a shop for a steep price and thought to myself that I could make this myself a lot cheaper. So I bought some yarn and making up my own pattern as I go along. Let's see how it will turn out...
This Macramé wall-hanging is a gift for a good friend and work colleague who retires this month. I hope she will like it. It's safe to post here, she will get it in a few hours.

And I have lots of previews to show for the new freebie kit.
Lavender and Lace was originally designed as a wedding kit , but floral elements and colours also make it a great spring or vintage kit.

This is a huge kit with 7 parts and as usual I will give you one file with papers and one with elements to start with.

More freebie links

Hi everybody ,
I finally get the time to post the last 2 links for Chocolate Seduction for you.

But first those creative updates again :)

That Jumper is finally finished and I'm pleased with how it turned out :)

And I transformed an ugly plastic basket with a crochet cover. It was a perfect way to use up some left over yarn.

I also managed to finish a Skillshare Watercolour class. It's not my usual style , but I don't think it turned out too bad.

I'll make it a quick post today and give you the links now. This old girl has to get ready for work soon.

New Freebie kit start again

Good morning :)
It's a wet and windy Sunday here with the wind howling around the roof and heavy rain on the forecast for later. Just the weather to stay in and get cosy!
My plans for today : Having a crafty morning and carry on with newest project, a crochet sweater , plant some more seeds , have a nice warm bubble bath, mani and pedicure and maybe even find time to paint a little :)
I'm working on a sweater with bobble pattern. This is really coming together nicely, I have just started the second part.

This was also a really quick project: I bought myself a new tablet and needed a protective cover for it. This soft and chunky wool was just perfect to crochet one.
Oh yes, and I finished a new kit !
The weather has gone mad though... we have Daffodils at beginning of February 😁

But now to the new freebie.
It's Valentines Day soon. This makes me think of chocolate, among some other things. So the kit is about chocolate :)
And here some more detailed previews as well.

It's a ex store kit I used to have for sale years ago....many years ago ! But now I'm giving it away for free. I prefer it to get used rather than just sitting and gathering dust on my external drive.

Here the first 2 links.

There will be another 2 files next post . I hope you enjoy :)
I'm going to have breakfast now, my stomach keeps growling at me .
So until next time....stay crafty.
Hugs Snowy :)
