Another part of the Thanksgiving freebie....or a lost part has been found :)

I'm back sooner than planned , but for a rather good reason. You know that Thanksgiving freebie I posted on the 25th? I knew there was more to it , I just didn't know whether it was lost in the computer crash years ago or whether it had just disappeared somewhere else. Well, I found it :) 

So after my nightshift recovery nap this afternoon I got to work and also brightened the colours up a little , made the preview, zipped and uploaded the lost folder. You won't believe how happy I am that I found the lost part !

And before you wonder....yes, I also have a kit journey planned for the coming Spring and Summer. This really is a year long scrap kit journey 😏

Thanksgiving/Autumn freebie

 Hi everybody,

I'm in full autumn mood ! It's my favourite time of year , apart from Spring. I just love the colours and cosiness that comes with it. The nights are getting cooler , but the days are still pleasantly warm. Although I got my winter slippers out. My toes were starting to feel the evening chill a little , and I'm not too keen on having cold feet :) 

 It was time to get out some autumn decorations. I don't go overboard with seasonal decorations , but I do like the odd piece in my home. Preferably handmade -no plastic! I'm trying to reduce my carbon footprint and reduce damage to the environment. These days global warming is the talk everywhere. It's sad that it took so long for people and governments to start acting. I've been doing it for years now and pretty much grew up being "green". But better late than never , just hoping it's not too late for our planet earth.

I'm all for reusing and repurposing , so I made a little pumpkin decoration which can be used for many years to come . 

And the dried grasses and reeds in the little vase are 100% natural. 

I found a hidden back-up folder from an old computer on one of my external drives. It was a pleasant surprise to find a couple of half finished kits I started to design a few years ago. So the past few days I worked on completing them....finally. 

Yeah, it's a summer kit , but it's another freebie kit you'll eventually get :) 

And the next Valentines kit is done as well. 

I started this when Reggie was still alive. Then when he passed away I was grieving and could not bear to work on it. But now, after 7 years I finally completed it. So you could say this kit is a little bit "special"  

And while scrolling through all the old files I also came across files of  an old collab kit. This was only available for a short time back then. 

So I brightened the files up a bit as they were rather dark and decided to make it available as a permanent freebie.

Samhain Night freebie Sampler

 Hello again :)

I finally managed to get the second Halloween sampler done . If you haven't seen yet , my Samhain night kit is also on the Scrap Store page. 

As all the Autumn series kits and my other Halloween kit " Halloween Hauntings" this kit is also made to mix and match. All colours are planned and selected so you can use the papers and elements to mix them with all the other kits .

Halloween Kit release and Sampler freebie

 Hi again :) 

Well, I'm definitely making the most of my time off work. Not only have I washed all the curtains, cleaned the windows, re-potted a bunch of plants, dug out my winter clothing from storage and washed those that needed it, but I have also been up to some art and craft stuff , besides designing more kits. 

My staycation is close to coming to an end , so I wanted to release my other Halloween kit before the daily work routine starts again. 

But first my crafty news ....

This is what my creative chaos looks like. I crocheted small pumpkins , little and bigger leaves, spirals and then I also made two macrame feathers. Together with wooden beads , gold fabric leaves , mini pinecones and a ton of hot glue the assembly began !

Plastic free ! 

I also dug out my paintbrushes and worked on some motives from the last watercolour book I bought . 

This one is a simple warm up . 

And then I painted mushrooms :) 

But now to main part of this post....my new Halloween kit .

As my Autumn kits this is also designed to mix and match. It fits with my other Halloween kit "Samhain Night" and all the Autumn kits. 

I created a large colour palette with 20 different colour shades , and by sticking to these colours for autumn and winter designs I get the perfect mix and match combinations from all the kits.

Last parts of Egyptian Dreams freebie

 Hello and good morning :) 

And a beautiful one it is today ! The sun is shining (until late afternoon when it's supposed to start raining if the forecast is right) and the best is that I have a couple of days off now after finishing my shift last night :) 

I started my day with a nice lay-in and got out of bed later than normal. I would have stayed cocooned and comfy under my quilt for longer , but hey ....you know.... that bladder wouldn't let me any longer :) 

So I just made myself a nice cup of coffee , stuck the first machine of laundry on and write this blogpost before anything else . 

And there are a few bits and bobs to show today before I post those freebie links ! 

I like my quick projects in between those that seem to take forever . Plus trying out and learning new patterns is always a good thing .

This is what is called " Mock English rib"

Fancy trying it? 

It's made by a combination of simple knit and purl stitches to create a fantastic texture. 
It's simply a two row repeat pattern. 

Row 1 : knit 3 , purl one , repeat to end of row

Row 2: knit 1 ,purl 1, knit 3, purl one , repeat knit 3 purl one till the end 

Repeat these two rows 

For this chunky yarn I cast on 20 stitches. 

And from this simple pattern practice I made a soft, chunky scarf , stitched on faux fur pompoms at the ends and voila ,it's done :) 

And I designed some more. I found a hidden folder on my external drive and it contained a couple of designs I started , but never finished. 

Well, they are being finished now ! 

This is the first one -Dream 

Layout made with "Dream" and remembering my beloved Reggie, who passed away today in 2014. It's hard to believe that it's already 7 years ago. 😚

The other new one is another fall kit . My favourite time of year :) 

I'm working on a series of seasonal kits , which will all be designed to mix and match. The last one in a previous post was "Falling into Fall" , which is for the very beginning of the changing season. Going from Summer into Fall. This one is for being right in the middle of the season. 

And I already have the name and idea for the next one ."Fall-ing into Winter"  

New kits will be available soon .....watch this space ! 😀

Hi everybody ..... I don't know, my brain must be suffering from this humid warm weather in the moment. I actually forgot I agreed to swap my shifts and turned up for the early instead of the late shift. Much to the amusement of my co workers 😂

For some reason these shift changes have knocked me out of my "normal" .I'm tired and still 3 more shifts to do. But I got a lot of designing done . Yup, more new kits to show ! 

A crafty kit :) Only just finished.

Still have to do detailed previews and some quickpages.

An elegant , romantic floral kit.

And the first Winter kit is done as well. 

Doing the detailed previews and quickpages, sorting into folders, naming files and uploading almost  takes as long as designing the kit itself. 

Well not quite , but most people seriously under estimate the time and work that goes into making these kits. 

From the initial idea/theme , then collecting the resource and design materials , bringing what is pictured in your head actually on to the screen.....you get the idea ! 

What you download in minutes takes hours to create. 

Not to mention buying or even creating the materials for the deign idea to start with. I only use commercial licensed digital products. I'm picky that way and stick to the rules. Anyway, let me gives you the links now , and then I have to ready for work.
